Unsuccessfully, :( .I have rvplayer5.0 and netscape installed in /opt. I have read all the docs that came with rvplayer5.0. I tried to follow the directions exactly and failed. I then tried to just understand them and attempt to tailor them to my SuSE setup and failed again. If I open Communicator 4.05 and then Realplayer and then click sites and Real home, realplayer says it can't find Netscape. If I try to setup the MIME type for realaudio-plugin, I don't get plugins as an option. I have plugins directories in ~/.netscape and /opt/netscape. I symlinked /opt/netscape to /usr/local/netscape because realplayer seemed to think it should be in /usr/local (I think???). I know somebody out there has done this correctly, how'd you do it? If I type "which rvplayer", I get /opt/rvplayer5.0/rvplayer. If I do "which netscape" I get nothing (because I have communicator 4.05). Is realplayer literally looking for "netscape"? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated, Steve p.s. Sorry if I rambled on... my brain is tired. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e --===============4535492501873954288==-- From jpcowh01@ox.slug.louisville.edu Wed Aug 19 08:49:27 1998 From: jpcowh01@ox.slug.louisville.edu To: users@lists.opensuse.org Subject: Re: [SuSE Linux] Realplayer 5.0 Date: Wed, 19 Aug 1998 04:49:27 -0400 Message-ID: <199808190849.EAA05189@dog.slug.louisville.edu> In-Reply-To: <35DA549C.CFA57CC6@ibm.net> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="===============2740499963660810518==" --===============2740499963660810518== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable > /opt/rvplayer5.0/rvplayer. In either /etc/profiles or /home/my_account/.profile you'll want a: MOZILLA_HOME=3D/my_path/netscape or MOZILLA_HOME=3D/my_path/communicator also LD_LIBRARY_PATH=3D/my_path/rvplayer This way, each of the other programs will be able to find eachother. There maybe other things entailed like setting up the rvplayer in preferances->helpers (where the applications are launched) and for the entry realaudio (ra,ram) the syntax is: /my_path/rvplayer=20 and netscape should lauch rvplayer from it's browser... Hope all of this helps...
