I am really surprised that 2.5 giganyte of software doesn't include the SVGA server. Is it in someplace that I can't find or is it really not included with the distribution?=20 Thanks, Ramin -------------------------------------------------------- Ramin Sina =20 =20 Institute for Physical Science and Technology =20 University of Maryland College Park Maryland 20742 =20 email: sina@glue.umd.edu Voice (301) 405 4852 http://www.atic.umd.edu/~sina> Fax (301) 314 9363 -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e --===============9109016952651854713==-- From roberto@cbvcp.com Fri May 1 01:44:54 1998 From: roberto@cbvcp.com To: users@lists.opensuse.org Subject: Re: [S.u.S.E. I guess I didn't state it clearly. I have no problem installing it. But I have to find it first. At this moment my machine is not connected to internet. I am just wondering if the software is shipped with the 4 CDs that I got from SuSE, where is it? In which directory of which CD? What you do is go in = yast to install packages... once your there, you go to change/create install= ation... to go the category called "x" and look through the list to see if t= he Xserver you need is installed... follow the instructions for installation= are rerun your configuration program for X (which may not be needed, but jus= t in case...) Good luck... I am trying to insta= ll kde beta4, and i installed all of the rpm's and the qt 1.33 rpm, but i cannot get it to work correctly (i did install them in the correct order). when i enter startx, it loads fvwm95 (or fvwm2, i forget which), and when i hit the button for other windows managers, it doesn't show kde4 like it did for kde 1 (which i uninstalled). when i type startkde, i am given the following: kcontrol: cannot connect to X server kwm: cannot connect to X server kbgndwm: cannot connect to X server Using old audio server with talk id 1 kfm: cannot connect to X server krootwm: cannot connect to X server kwm: cannot connect to X server kpanel: cannot connect to X server I would appreciate any help that anyone could give.
