[opensuse] GTK theme on KDE Plasma 5 for root?

I use KDE Plasma 5 desktop on Tumbleweed. GTK+ applications use the default theme "Adwaita". GTK+ application like Wireshark look OK, if they are started as normal user. But if I start an application as root (using "sudo", "kdesu", "gnomesu" or KDE starter) the GTK+ applications look broken. Wireshark is nearly unusable. The main menu has no spaces, radio boxes are only visible if checked. How can I configure a working GTK+ theme for root? I found this unmodified system default: # rpm -qf /etc/gtk-3.0/settings.ini gtk3-branding-openSUSE-42.1-1.6.noarch # cat /etc/gtk-3.0/settings.in # # settings.ini file allows you to define system wide defaults for # all GTK+ applications. [opensuse] wifi is enabled only after wake up

Hi all, I still have difficulties with wifi on this Asus K501UX laptop (Leap and KDE). Wired net is OK by now. Wifi needs some patience. I accidentaly found this: boot the laptop: no wifi. I pushed the Zz button, the system went to sleep. I woke it up, and voila, wifi is enabled and connects to my router? How is it? I googled and found dozens of texts only on the opposite: wifi is disconnected after waking up. Some hint, please? Its still not working correctly even though I have made sure it is drawn from the Packman repository. [opensuse] Off Topic: Wired PC's Behind Client Bridge Can't Ping Each Other

I have 2 wired ethernet PC's connected to a DD-WRT router running in client bridge mode. Both have internet access just fine, and both can access the main router's GUI administration page. Any PC connected wirelessly to the main router can also access the client bridge router's admin page as well. The problem I'm running into, is that the 2 wired PC's can't talk to each other. Pings fail when trying to access either PC; I've tried it on both: PING 192.168.1.5 (192.168.1.5) 56(84) bytes of data. From 192.168.1.4 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable From 192.168.1.4 icmp_seq=2 Destination Host Unreachable From 192.168.1.4 icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable I also tried with a Windows PC just to be sure it's not a SUSE issue and the same thing happens. There is more than one DD-WRT client bridge router on this network, so I plugged in a Windows laptop to a different client bridge router and pinging both my SUSE boxes were successful. Is there some reason why the wired PC's can't communicate with each other? [opensuse] webex - what is it and how to use with opensuse Leap

I have signed up for some on-line classes/ webinars that use webex. In my research to figure out how to make this work, all I have been able to come up with is that webex is a java based cisco application, set up mostly for 32 bit, that people use for interactive web conferencing. That is the reason the company I signed up with the classes uses webex - for the interaction. But right now I am just trying to view the previously recorded classes. I have to use firefox. However, I can't really figure out what I am supposed to do to make it work here on my laptop, besides running it in windows in a virtual machine. I can't really do this on this laptop, because the hard drive is really too small to make enough space for a virtual machine. However, I do need to be able to do these classes when I am sometimes traveling. So, here is what happens when I click on the link to start viewing the recorded session. What does it mean to "start a WebEx"? I am just clicking the playback button on my browser window. I understand that mac and windows apparently have a specific webex application, I think. This post seems a little confusing, so I will try to clarify. Basically, I am just trying to figure out how to run webex in firefox on my leap system on my new laptop. I have never run anything having anything to do with webex before, and I am very confused on how to get started, and there are no blogs or tutorials that are helpful. They all start with assuming that you have some level of knowledge of what webex is and how to use it. [opensuse] Skype broken encoding

I'm currently on latest Tumbleweed and for 1-2 weeks I see broken diacritical (accented) characters in Skype. It looks like failed conversion of UTF character into some Windows encoding. There seems to be no possibility to set this in the Skype and it works otherwise. [opensuse] Firefox - on the security exceptions - self-signed certificates

Hi, I set up Synology NAS server and allowed only HTTPS access for the web interface. It has self-signed certificate, but as it is only for internal purposes, it is not any problem. In Firefox, I went to the web interface. Of course, Firefox complained about invalid certificate. So that I added the secutiry exception. It was working fine, but as requested by our network admin, I had to change the network settings and set domain name. It seems Firefox has somehow related the certificate with the old network settings and it does not allow me to acces the site now. And there is no possibility to add the security exception, nothing. Firefox just points to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-does-your-connection-is-not-secur… I checked Firefox settings, but I didn't find respective certificate neither domain. So how can I add/change the security exception settings to acces the site now?
