[opensuse] oss 12.3, subversion, and apache

I have a OSS 12.3 machine running apache2 and subversion. Some updated obtained lately via zypper up seems to have broken subversion to where accessing subversion via apache causes a segfault in the apache child. I also noticed that an apache update is not getting via zypper up. Attempting to manually install this updates shows: zypper up apache2 Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... Problem: subversion-server-1.7.13-2.16.1.i586 requires apache_mmn_20051115, but this requirement cannot be provided uninstallable providers: apache2-2.2.22-10.1.1.i586[oss123-oss] apache2-2.2.22-10.4.1.i586[updates] Solution 1: Following actions will be done: deinstallation of subversion-server-1.7.13-2.16.1.i586 deinstallation of apache2-mod_perl-2.0.6-75.14.i586 deinstallation of apache2-mod_php5-5.3.17-3.4.1.i586 deinstallation of nagios-www-3.5.1-87.1.i586 deinstallation of phpMyAdmin-4.0.5-1.8.1.noarch Solution 2: do not install apache2-2.4.6-10.1.i586 Solution 3: break subversion-server-1.7.13-2.16.1.i586 by ignoring some of its dependencies The machine is running: apache2-2.2.22-10.8.1.i586 and subversion-server-1.7.13-2.16.1.i586 Is anyone else seeing the problem (it started happening after a zypper up about 2 weeks or so ago - I know it was working fine before that). [opensuse] Memory reported incorrectly?

This is odd. I'm not sure how to diagnose it. I've got an Acer Iconia W700 laptop/tablet. http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model-datasheet/NT.L0QAA.005 I just installed oS 13.1 on it and noticed the memory wasn't reported correctly... I was seeing 1.8GB instead of the 4GB it actually has. So... as part of my testing before asking on the ML, I installed oS 12.3. It's also showing only 1.8GB. Hello, I need some help to complete a software installation/configuration/setup for cacti software. The documentation I am using is at http://en.opensuse.org/Cacti Question: How is this error fixed ? to compelete the installation. The bit I am stuck on is the Apache and Cacti configuration. [opensuse] Problem with inactive RAID1 in Verify state

Hello, my Windows 7 crashed and put the fake-RAID1 in Verify-state. Previously the verification of the fakeRAID1 was possible with SuSE 12.1 like this: cat /proc/mdstat Personalities : [raid1] [raid0] [raid10] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4] md126 : active raid1 sdc[1] sdd[0] 1953511424 blocks super external:/md127/0 [2/2] [UU] [==>..................] resync = 10.5% (205884736/1953511556) finish=361.1min speed=80657K/sec md127 : inactive sdc[1](S) sdd[0](S) 6056 blocks super external:imsm unused devices: <none> But now there is a different situation: the whole thing does not boot to SUSE12.1, boot partiton is on some SSD and it says that it does not find /dev/disk/by-id/md-uuid-49818217:13c92065:79a2503c:31fc331d-part2 which is the boot partition according to /boot/grub/menu.lst . But I guess the RAID1 is the problem to be solved first, since in the Verify-state it does not come up: cat /proc/mdstat Personalities : [raid1] [raid0] [raid10] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4] md126 : inactive sdc[1] sdd[0] 3907023112 blocks super external:-md127/0 md127 : inactive sdc[1](S) sdd[0](S) 6056 blocks super external:imsm unused devices: <none> I am not that RAID expert so any help to activate this fakeRAID1 and start verifying would be appreciated. [opensuse] EFI Boot Problem with 12.3 x64 and Intel Xeon Server

Hi ! I have assembled this server: Intel server m/b S1200BTL E98681-352 BMC Firmware 1.13.2825, ME Firmware 02.02.00.036 CPU Intel Xeon E3-1230 3.3GHz 8 GB RAM LSI 3Ware 9750-4i RAID L5 with 4x1TB WD hard drives SuSE 12.3 x64 installs fine (with 1st FAT EFI partition) from USB stick, however, after install process being complete and restart I have nothing but black screen and blinking cursor. Virtually nothing else, even grub2 prompt. In BIOS setup I see entry "opensuse", and LSI 3Ware RAID set as first boot device. I tried to change partition setup, nothing changed. I can boot only from USB stick, Anyone can suggest me what to do next ? Thanks in advance for any suggestion(s). One thing I noticed about 13.1 vs 12.3 is that 13.1 is faster and crisper in its workings. A personal feeling I know but I to me it is certainly "nippier". [opensuse] Pulseaudio small CPU spikes

I was top watching (an addiction of mine) while surfing the web reading news and such, and I noticed as each web page is loaded, even those with no sound such as www.opensuse.org that pulseaudio would jump up and consume 2 or 3% cpu for a brief instant (second or two). I was ready to launch a witch hunt to find out what PulseAudio was doing with my sound card. Then on a lark, I switched from Chrome to Firefox. Pulseaudo was flat lined. Does nothing at all. Then I tried Konqueror Again no pulseaudio usage at all. (Side issue: man that Kong browser has improves while I wasn't paying attention. Too bad it locked up my machine using 100% CPU while closing it with three tabs open). Switch back to Chrome, and Pulse is eating cycles again. I've not authorized Chrome to use the mic. In fact I've specifically denied it that authority when it popped up the authorization screen. (Thanks for asking Google, but it appears that horse has left the barn already.). Note: this machine does NOT actually HAVE a microphone (unless I plug one in). And even with the volume cranked up, the web pages are not producing any sound, or navigation clicks. So I started digging around in and the Extensions. I discovered that the DISABLING the Google Voice extension stops its use of PulseAudio. (Google Voice normally makes no sound unless a text message arrives or something). Any clues on how I can find out just what Pulseaudio is being asked to do? [opensuse] A Different Problem with Nvidia

Hello! After several years with 11.3, I bit the bullet and did a clean 12.3/KDE install. All went well, except that the only resolutions available are 640x480 and 320x240. Are we back to editing Xorg.conf? (I installed the default drivers which gave me 1024x768; the Nvidia driver gave me the former worse situation.)FWIW, I have a GeoForce 8500 GT and a 24" LG screen which does 1920x1080@60Hz.
