Where to begin with activating ALPS/PS2 Alps Glidepoint touchpad

Hi folks, Does anyone have any good references for getting SuSE 9.3 to work with an ALPS/PS2 Alps Glidepoint touchpad? I realize some folks think touchpads are a handicap, but for those tight seats on Southwest Airlines, they can come in handy. I did a quick check of SuSE's support files and found out I could use Sax2 to configure. When I activated sax2, it listed the touchpad, but when I tried to test it, the cursor wouldn't move. I had to key back to cancel to get my mouse cursor back and moving. There's a deceptively simple answer, I'm sure. Thanks in advance for any help... samba question

Greetings, I have two questions for samba; Defined in the smb.conf file is this entry logon path \\%N\profiles\%u Where exactly is %N pointing to.. ggl only tells me what I already know and thats what the line should or could look like. I ve also seen one with a %L which I suppose is the machine, I get that from smblient -L Where can I see some sample winxp logon scripts, I need to map about 5 shares to each system and about 3 printers? Joining an increasing number of sources that won't compile on SuSE 9.3, builds fine on Mandriva LE 2005. Possibly a difference between gcc versions between distros, gcc-4.0 on SuSE gives the same errors. staroffice7 update - susepro 9.1

Susepro linux 9.1; staroffice 7 with prior updates I was trying to update so7 with the latest patch [Aug 23] but ran into trouble. Prior patches installed with no problem. The .bin file reports it cannot connect to the X server which it needs to do to install the update. I know that Suse, with 9.1, replaced the X-X11 functionality with XFree86 and I assumed that a request for X would be handled by XFree86 without my intervention? - am I wrong? Furthermore, the other update patches did not have this problem. Do I now have to advise the patch function[s] of the change - how? -- Cheers, Serge [Naggar Consulting]

Strange behavior with vim

I mean add bandwidth of mirrors to torrent. For example I was downloading at 60kb/s from torrent and at 23 kb/s from one mirror. "desktop" kernel parameter
