Internet via ADSL router and via dial up possible on same system?

Hello! My notebook needs to get connected to the Internet via an ADSL router when I'm in the office. No problem, I just set up the default gateway to the router's IP and it works. However when I travel I use an Internet dial up connection (kinternet or kppp). But that does not work when the default gateway is still set to the router's IP in the office. So I have to take out the default gateway every time I use dial up connections, and reenter it when I use the router. And while I'm at it, it is probably a good idea to do the same for the DNS entries required by the ADSL connection. How can I configure kppp or kinternet (using Suse 8.2) to do that automatically for me? Thanks, Matt

HOWTO roll XFree86 4.3.0 back to 4.2.0 on SuSE 8.1

have screwed up fonts completely on my SuSE 8.1 Xfree 4.3.0 upgrade how does one roll back to 4.2.0? What's the best approach. Thanks in advance. -- Jim Hamilton Perth, Western Australia

gcc 3.3 got well! on this load.

Hey Group; I seemed to have fixed the gcc 3.3 problem here. On a very fresh installed from CDs. I have a previous config floppy "user.sel" file. So no changes to the reload. I did find that previously I did not select "binutils". This time I did select them and now thing seem to work. So maybe the default selection of binutils was not done and the dependencies missed it. But life is beautiful again. I'm using K-mail and the other day I recieved an e-mail that seemed to be nothing but a header. I was reading the SuSE-E list today and found the same thing agian. I was able to read the message by having the sender try my other address which used pine. spammers to the suse list

I have to think that you're getting your spam from somewhere else. I don't get any. (So far, and I've been on the list for years.) I don't open unknown attachments, and frankly, I usually use Windows and Eudora.) I also, in Windows, use a pop-up killer. I use Netscape as a browser, and I don't go to porn sites. I normally go only to reference sites, or places that sell what I want to buy, like computer parts, clothes, etc. And Google. That's where I find the other sites. I will go back and use more Linux when I get the ambition to make a new machine. It's just too slow on this old 160 MHz machine. (So is Windows.) If I got a batch of spam to this list, I guess I would get off it. I hate spam, and I especially hate porn spam. I might even change my internet supplier, if it got ridiculous. --doug, wa2say

SuSE 8.2 and cluster

Hi, Any info, docs about how to setup a SuSE cluster based on 8.2 or 8.1 ? Is there any mailing list within SuSE regarding this subject ? Under Yast2 there is no Cluster Selection to easy see what software comes for cluster solution. Maybe a good tip for SuSE to add a cluster solution under Yast2 ! Many thanks stefan
