[SuSE Linux] xterm + MC = no color MC

I reloaded my workstation the other day and MC doesn't come up in color now. Using the switch -c doesn't help either. It works fine in rxvt though ? Can anyone tell me how to get color in xterm for 5.3 ? [SuSE Linux] Swap disk unavailable

I've mentioned earlier my current situation where I've got a 2nd HD that I want to do a 2nd SuSE install on (a belated thanks to Zentara and George Toft for their suggestions), but in looking into it I've found that in the YaST disk partition setup menu my swap disk is 'greyed out', so I can't change its type even if I wanted to (presumably I could in fdisk). I'm curious as to how this could have arisen. [SuSE Linux] KDE PPPd Script for an ISP

Hello, I've got to the point where the hardware is becoming less of a problem, Emacs is becoming more understandable due to a large amount of reading (weeks of it). I need to configure a KDE pppd login script. Can someone explain where to locate the file. Is it /etc/ppp/ppd for example ? [SuSE Linux] ext2 fs error: wrong free blocks count

Hello, ince 10 days ago, I often get fsck error messages while booting. In 2 out of 3 cases, I have to repair manually, and I often need several tries. While mounting filesystem during the normal boot process, e . g. after successfully repairing filesystems, I often get the following message: Error: ext2_check_blocks_bitmap (device 03.09): Wrong free blocks count for group 168 stored=7242 counted=7241 Error: ext2_check_blocks_bitmap (device 03.09): Wrong free blocks count in superblock stored=xxx counted=xxx-1 (numbers may vary) This errors mostly arise after significant writing activity on this partition (mostly /usr). (Since I tried to reinstall Linux several times, this often was the busiest partition.) I did not suffer significant loss of data, only xemacs crashed when attempting to start (segmentation fault). Windoze 95 on the same disk seems to run (or walk:) normally, although in my impression, it is even slower and less stable (but I dont know where to get significant error messages). I repartitioned, reformatted, reinstalled on different physical regions of the disk, with always the same result. I used a minimal Linux system on a ZIP disk and even got a similar fsck message once, without much writing activity. My hardware: Tyan Titan Turbo ATX-2 S1573 (Intel TX) IBM DHEA 6,4 GB (EIDE) (hda or hdc) ZIP ATAPI internal (hdc or hda) CD-ROM Lite-on ATAPI 24x internal (hdd or hdb) Can anone help me ? [SuSE Linux] Effect of changing mount point?

Further to my queries about a new installation: if I use YaST to change the mount point of an existing installation (e.g. if I change my existing / to, say, /old, and create a new / on a new partition, will that affect the files that are on that directory? Would they still be accessible? Further, (and I apologize for being stupid here!), I have used fdisk on my new HD. [SuSE Linux] 2 questions

This is the third time I send this message (the last two times I tried from an account different from the one I am registered at SuSE mailing list...I remember that once I read a message on this mailing concerning the possibility to accept mail only from registered addresses...nahh): there is this package gs_fontk-5.50-0.i386.rpm, since it is pretty big I would like to know what kind of optional fonts are inside of it. while I was longing to see my message on this list I had time for another problem. I know it has already been addressed BUT: 1- there are no search tool for the mailing list archive, and this time it is quite big thanks to "your faxs", "sex" and other topics (why the mailing list administrator didn't remove them from the archive... I got spammed twice!). 2- this list is famous for is tollerance :-) (at least for ppp setup problem... I never asked a question about ppp, I swear). 3- The question is: I'm triying to install some rpms series kde1.0 + qt 1.41 subseries alpha. I got this error message: failed dependencies: libsane.so.0 is needed by kagraph-alpha-3 libpq.so.1 is needed by kdbase-alpha-4 Suggestions are welcome.
