MHO, copio y pego: As MariaDB grows on its own and doesn’t remain 100% compatible with MySQL, the defaults configuration settings might not mean everything or behave the way they used to. It might use different variable names, or implement the same variables in new ways. You also need to take into account that MariaDB uses it’s own Aria storage engine that has many configuration options that do not exist in MySQL. IOW, si alguien quiere migrar, que tenga esto en cuenta. Me parece un post interesante que te da consejos sobre las diferencias en caso de tener que migrar. IOW, si alguien quiere migrar, que tenga esto en cuenta.

Me parece un post interesante que te da consejos sobre las diferencias en caso de tener que migrar.

Creo que openSUSE usa por defecto Mariadb. A mi "me migraron" hace tiempo.

Asi es MariaDB se instala por defecto. No estoy seguro pero CentOS tambien (tengo dudas). Tengo MariaDB en varios servdirores y no tengo problemas de nada. Saludos.
