So erst einmal gar nicht. Das ist alles normal. Was passiert denn, wenn Du beryl aufrufst?

Manchmal startet beryl-manager ohne jegliche Fehlermeldungen. Wenn ich dann allerdings als Fenstermanager beryl auswähle, wird diese Einstellung nicht korrekt übernommen. D. h. die Fensterdekoration ändert sich, aber alle anderen Desktopeffekte sind nicht aktiviert (Cube, Transparenz usw.). Außerdem steht im beryl-manager unter "Fenstermanager" immer noch "Metacity (Gnome Window Manager)". Zudem benutze ich KDE.
Oder aber beim Starten von beryl-manager kommt die Fehlermeldung "Der Composite-Manager hat sich innerhalb einer Minute zweimal beendet und wird damit für diese Sitzung abgeschaltet."
Das ist alles, was ich an Fehlermeldungen bzw. Fehlern berichten kann.

So erst einmal gar nicht. Das ist alles normal. Was passiert denn, wenn Du beryl aufrufst?

Außerdem kommt in der Konsole beim Starten von beryl-manager folgende Meldung:
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x4c trying '/home/USER/.xcompmgrrc' as configfile
Dann erscheint ein Fehlerfenster mit der Meldung: "Der Composite-Manager hat sich innerhalb einer Minute zweimal beendet und wird damit für diese Sitzung abgeschaltet."
Hat das vielleicht mit meinen Installationsquellen zu tun? Habe folgende in Yast eingetragen und aktiviert: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/xorg72/openSUSE_10.2 ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_10.2/

Ich kann Transparenz und Schatten nicht abschalten, weil ich beryl und somit transparente Fensterdekorationen nicht starten kann.

Ok. Habe alles wie von Martin beschrieben eingestellt. Ich bekomme aber immer noch die gleichen Fehlermeldungen wie bisher:
