ich hab den Thread nicht so mitverfolgt, aber ich habe mal eine ganze Weile auf einem Laptop win7 und suse draufgehabt und als ich die suse upgradet habe, wollte der grub auch nicht kommen, da habe ich, bis das geklärt war, schlicht den Windows-Bootmanager genutzt, der konnte ohne Probleme das "fremde Betriebssystem" starten. Muss irgendwo in der Systemsteuerung von Windows sein und ich denke, den gibts auch bei Win10. Hab die Kiste leider grad nicht hier. Könntest Du mit der Auswahl "Betriebssystem-Startmanager" ja mal versuchen...

Ich habe alles richtig gemacht. Ich wusste nur nicht, das HP anscheinend mit MS verheiratet ist.

Der entscheidende Hinweis fand sich im Netz (h30434.www3.hp.com:/t5/Desktop-Wireless-and-Networking/Grub-problem/td-p/5949710):

--- Even in HP computers bought in the last two years, the HP BIOS will only look for and load "bootmgfw.efi" which is the Microsoft boot loader file who's entries are Windows 8 and later specific and exclusive.

It will Only boot Windows.

Debian distros of which Ubuntu is a part, uses the Grub2 EFI file "grubx64.efi" or "grubx32.efi" who's entries are Lunix and Debian specific which also has the option of "chaining" or passing the boot process on to other Operating System's boot loaders including Windows.

The workaround is to rename grubx64.efi or grubx32.efi to bootmgfw.efi and place this file in not one but three different directories ---

In meinem Fall habe ich also (brauchte nur eine Stelle bei meinem BIOS):

cd /boot/efi/EFI mv Microsoft/boot/bootmgfw.efi Microsoft/boot/bootmgfw.sav cp opensuse/grubx64.efi Microsoft/boot/bootmgfw.efi

und ... GRUB2 kommt beim Start und ich kann von hier wie gewünscht wählen!

Problem (mittels hoffentlich einmaligen Workaround) gelöst
