YOU mit 8.1 geht nicht?
Hallo, bei der Wartung einer kleinen Firewall mit SuSE 8.1 ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich kein Online-Update machen kann. Yast meldet einfach nur, daß "www.suse.de" nicht erreichbar sei. Mit ftp oder ping von der Commandline kann man sehr wohl nach sonstwohin verbinden. Wo und wie kann ich suchen? In log-files habe ich nichts festgestellt, Yast behält alles für sich. Manfred

Nimm einfach einen Spiegel! Bei selbst was runterladen ist ein ewiges Geduldsspiel und auch nicht nötig. Liste ist hier erhältlich: http://www.suse.de/de/private/download/ftp/inland.html und dann sollte es auch mit dem YOU klappen und mit dem bißchen, was Deine Firewall braucht, erst recht. YaST bietet, wenn ich mich nicht täusche, sogar die Liste in seinem Auswahl-Menü an. Nun, das ist anders. YaST bietet GAR NICHTS an. Die Fehlermeldung kommt gleich nach dem wählen des Menupunktes zum Online-Update. Die Firewall hat keinen Nameserver laufen. Als DNS ist ein Server vom Provider eingetragen und als Gateway ein anderer. Auf der Firewall geht nix mit http, aber mit ftp kann ich mich auf dem gwdg-Server anmelden und patches herunterladen. Nur: gibt es eine Hilfe für mich, welche Patches ich brauche? Das war ja der Vorteil von YOU. Wenn ich von der Commandline "you -i security" aufrufe, startet you mit einem blauen Bildschirm und der Nachricht "Please wait..." oder so ähnlich, aber dann beendet sich das Programm wieder. Im Logfile /var/log/YaST/y2log fehlen "retrievePackage"-Meldungen, aber ich finde auch keine Fehlermeldungen. Hast Du noch einen Tip? Manfred

Ich habe jetzt mal meinen Konsolen-YaST (SuSE 8.2) angeworfen und bin auf den Punkt Online-Update gegangen. Das erste, das YaST tut, ist eine Liste von Mirrors zu holen. Das sagt er mir und lädt ein paar Sekunden das Fenster, in dem man sich da Online-Update konfigurieren kann. Ich kann jetzt mit der Tab-Taste da hin springen und einen Mirror anwählen. Fragt sich, woher weiß YaST, daß er eine solche Listen holen kann. Darüber habe ich noch nicht nachgedacht, vermutlich etwas in den Tiefen von /etc/sysconfig. (Dein Firewall-Rechner ist ja wohl ständig am Netz, oder?). Andere Frage: Ist die firewall vielleicht so präpartiert, daß sie YaSTs Anfrage blockiert? Kann es ein YaST-Bug sein? Ich würde mal bei den SuSE-Seiten nachgucken, ob das was gelistet und gegebenenfalls YaST erst mal updaten. wget von der Firewall sollte gehen. Downloaden und mit rpm -Uhv einspielen. Danke für Deine Antwort, Helga. Ich hatte schon in sysconfig gesucht, aber ich glaube, die Adresse und das Protokoll (vermutlich http) ist fest einprogrammiert. Aber ich gehe nun den harten Weg, bzw. probiere Deinen Vorschlag, erstmal Yast zu updaten... Manfred

Ich habe mit ftp die Yast-Pakete yast2-online-update-2.6.14-0.i586.rpm yast2-packager-2.6.63-3.i586.rpm yast2-core-2.6.53-8.i586.rpm yast2-packagemanager-2.6.44-2.i586.rpm geholt und mit "rpm -U" installiert (außerdem mußte ich noch das wget-Paket installieren). Danach hat das Yast-Online-Update einwandfrei funktioniert. Manfred

Hatte das gleiche Problem. Bei mir hat das erste Update mit der 8.1 nur mit dem ungarischen Mirror in der Liste funktioniert. Weiß nicht, ob das Zufall war. Mit der www.suse.de hat es allerdings hier auch noch nie funktioniert; ist wohl regelmäßig überlastet.
