OT: Problem bei logrotate
Hallo zusammen, ich versuche nun schon länger ein funktionierendes logrotate bei Apache Logs hin zu bekommen, aber es will mir nicht gelingen. Hallo, bei meiner Konfiguration (leap423) wird in /etc/logrotate.conf der Packer mit compresscmd /usr/bin/xz und die Endung compresssext .xz (als default) angegeben. Wenn Du .gz brauchst solltest Du dass dort oder in der Jeweiligen Konfig machen, wird dann default überschreiben. Aussederm sollte #compress dort mit mehr auskommentiert sein. Die beiden date Zeilen habe ich mit # auskommentiert, bevor das access.ong_80.20180222.20180223-20180224 wieder entstanden ist, sollte also nicht dazu beigetragen haben. Bei mir sieht es so aus und funktioniert: /var/log/apache2/access_log /var/log/apache2/access_ssl.log /var/log/apache2/deflate.log /var/log/apache2/error_log /var/log/apache2/error_ssl.log /var/log/apache2/ssl_engine_log /var/log/apache2/suexec.log { compress dateext maxage 365 rotate 99 size=+4096k notifempty missingok create 644 root root sharedscripts postrotate systemctl reload apache2.service sleep 5 endscript } Das "Fleisch" in meiner ../logrotate.conf ist: weekly rotate 4 create dateext compress compresscmd /usr/bin/xz uncompresscmd /usr/bin/xzdec include /etc/logrotate.d Die wesentlichen Unterschiede zu deiner Komfiguration sind wohl das "dateext" und die Wildcards in den Filenamen. Die Man Page meint dazu: "Please use wildcards with caution. If you specify *, logrotate will rotate all files, including previously rotated ones. Nein, ich hatte nicht alle Infos gepostet, da es sonst ev. etwas viel geworden wäre.

Bei mir sieht es so aus und funktioniert:

Das "Fleisch" in meiner ../logrotate.conf ist:
weekly rotate 4 create dateext compress compresscmd /usr/bin/xz uncompresscmd /usr/bin/xzdec include /etc/logrotate.d
Die wesentlichen Unterschiede zu deiner Komfiguration sind wohl das "dateext" und die Wildcards in den Filenamen. Die Man Page meint dazu: "Please use wildcards with caution. If you specify *, logrotate will rotate all files, including previously rotated ones. A way around this is to use the olddir directive or a more exact wildcard (such as *.log)."
Danke. Ich denke mein Fehler war das /var/log/httpd/access.*_80* Mit /var/log/httpd/access.*_80 /var/log/httpd/access.*_80?? ... sind keine Files mit so vielen Datums-Zusätzen mehr entstanden.
