Hallo, mit dem Update per yast von 12.2 auf 12.3 habe ich mein System zerschossen. Vom parallelem System habe ich versucht per chroot etwas zu tun aber weder yast noch zypper sind als Befehl bekannt. ls bzw rpm scheinen zu existieren. Ich weis jetzt nicht mehr weiter würde aber meine Scanner, Drucker und andere Einstellungen ungern schon wieder neu machen zumal das immer nur über/mit externen Programmen geht. Wie chroote ich richtig von Suse 12.3 zu einem Suse 12.2/3 im Updateprozes hängengeblieben? Dann wollte ich entweder per Yast oder Zyppper das update nochmal anstoßen und sehen was geht. Dann den Bootloader wieder neu erstellen erst mal mit Yast versuchen. Nachdem es mit der Netzinstallversion nicht ging habe ich s mit der DVD soweit bekommen. Leider auch ohne Erfolg. 2 Pakete wurden noch installiert und dann konnte die initrd nicht erstellt werden. Angeblich ist das ganze ein bugzilla wert davon habe ich aber keine Ahnung und ohne Englich bin ich da aufgeschmissen. Jedenfalls soll ich die Datei /var/log/yast2/ich weis nicht mehr mit onlinestellen. Das chroot ging auch nicht. Nach dem Neustart bin ich in irgend einem System gelandet (Grub wurde nicht angepasst) in dem Ich mich nur auf der Konsole anmelden konnte. Nachdem es mit der Netzinstallversion nicht ging habe ich s mit der DVD soweit bekommen. Leider auch ohne Erfolg. 2 Pakete wurden noch installiert und dann konnte die initrd nicht erstellt werden. Angeblich ist das ganze ein bugzilla wert davon habe ich aber keine Ahnung und ohne Englich bin ich da aufgeschmissen. Jedenfalls soll ich die Datei /var/log/yast2/ich weis nicht mehr mit onlinestellen. Das chroot ging auch nicht. Nach dem Neustart bin ich in irgend einem System gelandet (Grub wurde nicht angepasst) in dem Ich mich nur auf der Konsole anmelden konnte. (ich hatte da einen alten Eintrag dieser müsste sich aber auf einen älteren Kernel beziehen.

Nach dem Anmelden auf der Konsole erhielt ich die Nachricht: bash: warning: setlocale: LC-Messages: cannot change locale (de-DE.Utf-8): No such file or directory
.... also wenn das auch nicht mehr hilft, dann: System mit RettungsCD starten und 1. Kopiere /home auf externe Platte 2. Kopiere /etc auf externe Platte 3. ggf. Kopiere /var/spool auf externe Platte 4. alles komplett neu installieren (Kein Update) 5. /home zurückkopieren 6. als und neues /etc ___vergleichen__ und schauen wo man händisch in einzelnen Dateien Anpassungen nachziehen muss 7. /var/spool's anscahuen, wo es Änderungen gibt. Ich nehme an, du hast ein Backup, wenn nicht, geht es unter dem Strich weiter. Der rescue Teil der DVD ist dein Freund, da gab es einen Punkt: bestehendes System starten. Boote mit dem rescue Teil der DVD Zwei Verzeichnisse anlegen z.B.: mkdir /mnt/mnt_old mkdir /mnt/mnt_backup mounte die "unbrauchbare" Partition readonly, ich vermute Filesystem ext4 mount -rt ext4 /dev/sd_wasauchimmer /mnt/mnt_old dann das Backupmedium mount -t ext4 /dev/sd_backupmedium /mnt/mnt_backup cd /mnt/mnt_backup dort kannst du Unterverzeichnisse anlegen, wenn du zusätzliche brauchst. Dann geht es in das Verzeichnis für die Sicherung, in meinem(!!!) Beispiel cd /mnt/mnt_backup Von dort aus rsync -avxHSAX /mng/mnt_old/ . Das ist wirklich ein Punkt. sync usw. bis du alle Partitionen gesichert hast. sync cd umount /mnt/mnt_old umount /mnt/mnt_backup -------------- Jetzt könntest du weitere Reparaturversuche starten oder die Neuinstallation angehen Nach einer Neuinstallation kannst du einige Teile der Konfigurationsdateien aus dem alten homeverzeichnis Stück für Stück wieder verwenden. Gruß Peter ------------ Übrigens: Seit Jahren hat sich bei mir für meinen Einzelplatzrechner bewährt: boot ca 150 MB swap, so groß wie der Hauptspeicher root ca 15 GB home ca 20 GB der Rest daten. da ist alles, was ich auf den Rechner schaffe. Alles was nicht auf home zum installiertem System gehört, wird auf daten gelegt und entsprechend verlinkt.
