Das habe ich gerade vor ein paar Tagen nach etwas Web-Recherche so gelöst:
Von der Google-Earth-Site das RPM mit der Version 6.x heruntergeladen und mit rpm installiert. Danach /opt/google/earth/free/libcurl.so.4 gelöscht, googleearth nimmt dann die zum System gehörende libcurl und sucht wieder richtig.
Version 6.x, da in der aktuellen Version 7.x z.B. Fotos nicht korrekt angezeigt wurden, nur als leere weiße Fenster.
Nun sehe ich gerade, dass wohl diese Woche 7.1.x herausgekommen ist (das das Problem mit den weißen Fenstern immer noch hat) und demzufolge die alte 6.x nicht mehr von Google zu bekommen ist. Vielleicht findest du sie irgendwo anders noch.
