Probably you are using an old version of poedit, which can handle msgctxt, so once saved the msgid are duplicated. But the problem is that the old version of poedit breaks the file, and it is of course rejected when you try to commit. Can't you use kbabel? Or pass the task to some one in your team that uses kbabel. There is a trick, training kbabel with your broken file first, then doing an automated rough translation on the good file, to salvage your work. I didn't use the automatic translator because that file is easy to translate. The work on it is now done. Thanks for your help.

I was just trying to say that the automated tool can be used to re-do a translation you did before, with less work: - define a new compendium database dictionary - train with the broken poedit file - open the original file, do rough translation - review the resulting fuzzies.
