*** vital issues *** for OpenSuSE 11.2
While we already have a list of the most annoying bugs causing hazards or blocking users I wanna encourage something new: A list of vital-issues which are of elevated importance to desktop users. I would regard the following as candidate issues: * Firefox: bookmarks can not be added any more (bug 540629) * Thunderbird: can not select default browser (bug 540631) * pairing of bluetooth devices does not work in user mode (bug 513123) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-testing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-testing+help@opensuse.org

I have no idea how many "vital issues" we will find, but for now I'd propose not to have a separate page for them. It just makes it more difficult because you have to look at two pages ("most annoying bugs" and "vital issues"). Just use the existing "most annoying bugs" page - at least until the list is too long (which I don't hope ;-) Basically, the list of "most annoying bugs" can be filled by everybody who has found a bug that looks annoying enough. A bug doesn't need to render your system completely useless to qualify for a listing on this page. This also means that the collection of bugs listed there can be somewhat subjective (as in "most annoying for me"). And: Not every bug listed there will annoy every user - issues that only affect some percent of the users may also be listed there. IMHO the issues you listed perfectly fit on the "most annoying bugs" page. If you really want, give them a sub-headline "less annoying bugs" or so ;-) but I don't see a real need for a sub-headline. BTW: You(?) state on the "most annoying bugs" page: Issues that do not cause hazards but will be crucial for the acceptance of the distro should be reported at Vital_Issues. Things that are crucial for the acceptance of the distro is what I would call an "annoying bug" (and therefore list on the "most annoying bugs" page).
I would regard the following as candidate issues:
* Firefox: bookmarks can not be added any more (bug 540629)
This firefox issue qualifies as "annoying bug" for sure. A browser that can't save bookmarks is, hmmmm, well..., a good advertising tool for delicious?? ;-)
* Thunderbird: can not select default browser (bug 540631)
This bug was closed in the meantime ;-)
* pairing of bluetooth devices does not work in user mode (bug 513123)
I'm not sure how many people actually use bluetooth (I don't), but it might qualify as "annoying bug" as well. Regards, Christian Boltz --
IIRC gab es ÜHER mal so seltsame rechteckige Blöcke mit vielen einzelnen Blättern aus Zellulosefasern in denen man Rezepte nachlesen konnte... aber frag' mich jetzt nur nicht, wie die hießen. Well, I thought it was a vital issue when I filed it a year ago, and now finally it's been designated a ship-stopper! Obviously, if anyone else has encountered this problem, you're encouraged to chime in on the bug: http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=430284 [Bug 430284] Installation hangs at "Loading basic drivers..." on HP dv9000z Stephan Kulow <coolo@novell.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flag| |SHIP_STOPPER- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-testing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-testing+help@opensuse.org
