[opensuse-support] How to access OpenSuSE Forums, etc. with IDP Portal?
So, after waiting forever for the migration dust to die down WRT the various OpenSuSE online resources, I'm trying to regain access. Since my old account is no longer accessible, I created a new account (IDP Portal Info) which is supposed to give me access, but then if I click on the Login widget on the Forums page it opens a new tab with e.g. https://forums.opensuse.org/ICSLogin/auth-up?url=%2Fforumdisplay.php%2F667-G... I fill in account name and password, press Login, and...I'm back on the Forum page, but STILL NOT LOGGED IN. What's the trick to making this work? I sent that email, and got one back (that I can't find now) telling me my password is '6xwop4X5'; but I still get 'The username/password combination you entered is invalid. Please try again, or recover it from here.' when I try to login as jlturriff. I can't get in with the old jlturriff (bad password), nor with jlt1 (only lets me get to account settings). Maybe I need to [gasp] switch to Ubuntu. :-) :-( -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

I replied to your email, I have no control over passwords/self-help, you cannot use jlturriff anymore, if that's what your trying to use, then it won't work. -- Cheers Malcolm °¿° SUSE Knowledge Partner (Linux Counter #276890) Tumbleweed 20200829 | GNOME Shell 3.36.5 | 5.8.4-1-default Intel DQ77MK MB | Xeon E3-1245 V2 X8 @ 3.40 GHz | Intel/Nvidia up 23:38, 2 users, load average: 9.40, 3.58, 2.03 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Well, I was being a bit facetious there, really. Let me try some more things. (The message I got back with that short password didn't make it clear that it was for the new account. I won't do anything more with the old one. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Okay, I was able to reset the password on jlt1; after that it again displayed my account profile. Then I started a new session with forums.opensuse.org and tried to login. I entered jlt1 and the new password, pressed Enter, and it took me back to the Forum page, but the page header still shows the 'Login' button, which tells me that I'm still not logged in?

I see no user jlt1 in the Forum, does it work if you log into bugzilla https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/ and does the email address show the one your using? -- Cheers Malcolm °¿° SUSE Knowledge Partner (Linux Counter #276890) Tumbleweed 20200829 | GNOME Shell 3.36.5 | 5.8.4-1-default Intel DQ77MK MB | Xeon E3-1245 V2 X8 @ 3.40 GHz | Intel/Nvidia up 1 day 2:07, 2 users, load average: 0.35, 0.15, 0.11 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Nope. When I fill in jlt1 and the password bugzilla just clears the fields and does nothing else. But, HAH! After purging all cookies from my browser, Forums let me in. This is good! I wonder what's the story with bugzilla, now? :-) Leslie -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
