[opensuse-support] What to do when a bug isn't taken?
Hi all, I filed bug https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1096328 about 3 1/2 month ago, and nothing has happened since, it's still in state New. Is there anything I could do to make this change? The issue certainly hasn't changed with any updates since then. Hi, Not that I will have anything to do with the actual bug but you might want to add what version of opensuse your using in the bugreport. A "cat /etc/os-release" from a terminal would suffice. You may try pinging on opensuse-kde list. Or - as you have reference to upstream commit with fix - test it and submit fixed version yourself.

Huh? This bug is opened against Leap 15, what else is missing?

Indeed it is. My bad. Sorry for the buzz. Cheers, -- /bengan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
Hi Andrei, thanks. In the mean time, I have tried to backport the patch and it works: I've just rebuild https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:msalle:libqt5/libqt5-qtbase also locally in osc and updated to my newly built libQt5PrintSupport5. I now indeed see the CUPS default setting when going to the print dialog. I'll update the bug. Best, Mischa On Fri, Sep 21, 2018 at 12:23 PM Andrei Borzenkov <arvidjaar@gmail.com> wrote:

For Factory you can simply submit your changes via SR directly: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:How_to_contribute_to_Factory#How_to_submit_... For released version like Leap it indeed should got via regular maintenance. It can submit SR in this case too, though, it may draw more attention. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org
Hi, thanks for the guidance. I've followed the submit a fix guidelines (from scratch, for cleanliness, packages are now building). However, osc submitrequest gives a warning "Project does not accept submit request, request to open a NEW maintenance incident instead" It does say however that it has "created request id 637054", but a osc request list shows it as being declined: "637054 State:declined By:factory-auto When:2018-09-21T13:57:21" Do I understand correctly I should use the "Submit as update" from my branched project? (https://build.opensuse.org/project/incident_request_dialog?project=home%3Ams...) thanks, Mischa On Fri, Sep 21, 2018 at 3:36 PM Andrei Borzenkov <arvidjaar@gmail.com> wrote:

Ah, it seems now to have gone through I think: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/637060 (I hadn't referenced the actual patch name in the changelog...). We'll see what happens next. As a followup, potentially the bug wasn't assigned to the right person, also because the Leap version of this package is shared with SUSE Linux Enterprise, the patch will have to be added to the SLE version of the package and the maintenance request will have to be created for SLE then it will automatically be copied into leap, unfortunately this needs to be done by a SLE engineer. The following line will tell you if a leap package comes from openSUSE (openSUSE:Factory) or SLE (SUSE:SLE-15:XX) osc -A https://api.opensuse.org cat openSUSE:Leap:42.2:Update 00Meta lookup.yml | grep libqt5-qtbase osc bugowner libqt5-qtbase, will tell you who should be responsible for this package, running the command with -e will give you the email address should you want to work with them, if as in this case it comes back as empty that is an issue we need to resolve, especially for packages maintained in SLE. If you ever find such a package email the opensuse-factory mailing list and we will try and fix the issue. "osc maintainer libqt5-qtbase" will also give you a slightly longer list of everyone who is allowed to make or approve changes to the package. On 21/09/2018 23:46, Mischa Salle wrote:
