Thanks, It could be local issue then, BTW the Internet speed here is normal, I just see slowness during TW zypper processes. Regards, -- Marco Calistri Build: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20220403 Kernel:5.17.1-1-default Desktop: XFCE (4.16.0)

In fact, I did remember something related to Geo-location for choosing the best mirror. I found two best URL for my country (BR) but then have I to edit my current repos list with the suggested hostname? I.E.:

Nope :-) You are already getting those repos, automatically. Or you should. You can find out what repositories you are actually hitting by looking at the zypper logs the instant when a slow download is actually going on. Should be "/var/log/zypper.log". The possibilities are that you hit a faraway site, or a closeby site that is very slow. Now, if the list you got had _not_ contained any .br url, that would be the problem, but it is not the case, you are getting .br sites in the list, so that's not the problem. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. My guess is that both brazilian mirrors were not fast to update their packages so when we see an update it is not on br mirrors yet (the same should be true to tumbleweed)

Sorry to answer abruptly to the last answer of this topic started by me. What Carlos told me previously is not occurring here: I have not any *.br* domains into my zypper.log. So what it was appearing as a "banal question" in practice is being a little more complex matter... 😉 I tried (experimentally) to point my "oss" and "non-oss" repositories to the Brazilian servers without any enhancements for the D/L speed, beside this the Brazilian servers don't contain all the sub-repositories as we can obtain from the main server: download.opensuse.org. When downloads are slow or expensive it may be important to make sure you have this setting in file /etc/zypp/zypp.conf: download.use_deltarpm = false This means that when possible zypper/yast will try first to download the smaller delta files; however, these files have to be processed locally to convert to the full files, and this is slow and CPU intensive. This setting is the default, but people change it to "true" when internet is fast and cheap. You can also use this syntax in the repo definition (watch out, lines have wrapped in email): /etc/zypp/repos.d/EXT_Packman.repo: baseurl=http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/openSUSE_Leap_$releasever/ http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_Leap_$releasever/ http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/packman/suse/openSUSE_Leap_$releasever/ Ie, define multiple URLs for each repo. You can put there alternative sites you know. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from Elesar, using openSUSE Leap 15.3)

This setting is the default, but people change it to "true" when internet is fast and cheap. download.use_deltarpm = false is in all my zypp.conf files. Delta rpms have not been downloaded here in many moons. Bandwidth here is good and uncapped. I have a lot of slower old hardware that would gobble CPU and increase slow I/O to process deltas. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science.

Typo, should be: download.use_deltarpm = true
