Re: Install of scanner software fails with message "Failed to activate hpaio"
Today I noticed that after my most recent install of the OS I had not installed the scanner driver for my HP DeskJet F2210 printer/scanner. I started YaST Scanner and pointed it to the components for the F2210 scanner. It installed numerous QT5 libraries, hplip-devel, hplip-hpijs and hplip-sane, then failed with the "Failed to activate hpaio" message. I tried removing and reinstalling the hplip-* components, but it failed again the same way. Where should I look for more information to diagnose this? Presumably you installed 3.20.11 from the default 15.3 repo. I recall seeing a problem with an update not long ago, I don't think it had anything to do with qt. I'm using 3.21.10 hplip* from the Sauerland OBS repo, here: https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Sauerland/openSUSE_Leap_15.... Add that repo and upgrade all the hplip related packages. If still no joy, try installing his sane-backends packages, too. --dg 15.2 & 15.3/KDE Plasma
