[softwaremgmt] rpm-md arbitrary package location
Greetings all, In response to some questions on the opensuse-project list I was experimenting to see whether it would be possible to create a repository for packages which are not distributable due to their licence. I tried creating a repository for the skype package and altering <location href="skype-1.4.0.118-suse.i586.rpm"/> to <location href="http://download.skype.com/linux/skype-1.4.0.118-suse.i586.rpm"/> However, this will not work with either zypp or smart, both will only accept a relative URL here. Is this by design? I couldn't find any documentation that stated one way or the other. -- Benjamin Weber -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-softwaremgmt+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-softwaremgmt+help@opensuse.org

Thats one of the problems with the rpm-md format, missing specification and 'best practices'. But it should be fairly straightforward to add support for this kind of referencing to existing implementations (like libzypp).
