Hello all,
what are the differences between the two feeds for security related updates? - *hermes feed* on https://hermes.opensuse.org/feeds/62042.rdf - *lists feed* on lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/mailinglist.rss
The lists feed is now feeding the forum at http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/news-announcements/suse-secu... . We wounder if we should change to the one from hermes.
I noticed two differences: 1. On the hermes feed are only openSUSE related announcements. On the lists feed are also announcements related to SUSE (SLES/SLED). 2. In the hermes feed is nearly all information included between "<description>" and "</description>". On the lists feed is only the first part of the information included and someone has to follow the link to http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/<date>/msg<number>.html to get the rest of the information especially the "Affected Products" (openSUSE 11.4, ...).
The hermes feed may be better suited to give the openSUSE forums users security information because they would see only information that is related to *open*SUSE and wound not need to leave the forums to get more information (and all information/words could be found with a search in the forums).
Are there any other differences between the two feeds especially any which may have a negative effect if we change on the forums to the hermes feed?

Hi,
The mailinglist is fed by two hermes feeds, the SLE security and the openSUSE security one.
It additionally got our Security Advisories, but we are phasing these out in favor of the Security Notices.
So you can use the Hermes feed for the Forum.
Ciao, Marcus

Hello list, hello Marcus,
Hm. https://hermes.opensuse.org/feeds/62042.rdf is now empty (was also outdated before) and on https://hermes.opensuse.org/feeds/ there are no URL listed for "openSUSE Maintenance All Updates" or "openSUSE Maintenance Security Updates" any longer.
In Addition the software that runs the openSUSE forums vBulletin seemed not to work as a feed-reader with the format of that hermes feed (the Chromium browser nether although other browsers did).
Is there any URL available for the openSUSE feed that feeds the mailinglist (the one of two hermes feeds - maybe from another hermes server)?
Regards Martin

The guy who does the feeds is on vacation this week, I will ask him next week.
I think there might have been setup issues after some internal changes, but the feed should come from Hermes :/
Other RSS feeds are currently not present.
