Hello, to all. I have an interesting problem. I have installed Apache 1.3.12 with mod_ssl 2.6.3 php 3.0.16 , mysql and sybase support. The Configuration works well, but there is a strange phenomenon : If i try to connect with : http://192.168.100.1/mrtg, i do not get any connect. If i try to connect with : https://192.168.100.1/mrtg i get a connect, but i CAN connect with http://192.168.100.1/mrtg/ So, if i supply the last slash, the Browser establishes the Connection.... WHY ? I think this should work with both urls, because apache is configured with : listen 80 listen 443 Any Idea ? tia Harald Scharf

Did you use some "Alias" or "RewriteRules"? If so, you may have to rewrite the non-slashed URL to the slashed (maybe as Redirect). See, My linux box has a fixed IP address on my dialup connection (194.109.61.251). Apache recognizes this as THE address of the server. If I don't supply the final slash, it tries to sort of 'redirect' everything to my external address which is not always up. There are two ways around this one: 1) Always supply trailing slash or full document name [the easy way], or 2) Create an alias on your internal network eth0:1 with my external address [the hackers way :-)]. Just my (= 0,02 [damn, what's the ASCII representation of the Euro symbol anyway?]
