Hi Thom, did you select support for ppp and UNIX98 PTY in your kernel config? Regards, On Thu, 14 March 2002 21:47:25 +0000, Thorsten Marquardt wrote:

Hi Jörg,
Hi Thom,
did you select support for ppp and UNIX98 PTY in your kernel config?
yes this has been enabled. But ip_gre support was missing. I installed ip_gre as a module and now I get a different message: Mar 14 22:16:50 mail pptpd[13383]: CTRL: Client 212.6.87.118 control connection started Mar 14 22:16:50 mail pptpd[13383]: CTRL: Starting call (launching pppd, opening GRE) Mar 14 22:16:50 mail pptpd[13383]: CTRL: Error with select(), quitting Mar 14 22:16:50 mail pptpd[13383]: CTRL: Client 212.6.87.118 control connection finished Mar 14 22:16:51 mail pppd[13384]: no device specified and stdin is not a tty I think this looks much better, but what could cause the Error with select()? - Trouble with the confgured ip-addresses? - Some ip-chains rules? Since PPTP is insecure, you shouldn't do that at all. Take a look at http://mopo.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/pptp_mschapv2/ Maybe FreeS/WAN is an alternative for you. GTi
