[opensuse-science] Deleting broken (linking to d:l:python) python-foo packages?
Hi, the majority of broken packages in "science" is due to the link target being deleted from devel:languages:python: https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor? commit=Filter%3A&broken=1&pkgname=&repo_SLE_12=1&repo_openSUSE_Leap_15_0=1&repo_openSUSE_Leap_42_3=1&repo_openSUSE_Tumbleweed=1&arch_x86_64=1&project=science&defaults= Are there any objections to delete these packages/links to d:l:python? Kind regards, Stefan-- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-science+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-science+owner@opensuse.org
The packages have been moved to devel:languages:python:misc. There is a new policy that all packages in devel:languages:python must be in openSUSE:Factory. So anything that isn't has been moved to devel:languages:python:misc. If there is no longer any interest in the packages, you can just delete the links. If someone wants them, they should be cleaned up (if necessary), submitted to devel:languages:python, then submitted to openSUSE:Factory. Alternatively, they can be moved to science, which doesn't have the same requirement that packages must be in openSUSE:Factory AFAIK. Hi, here is the list of packages to be deleted from science. "!=" means "is required by". "!" marks any package which is not in the list. There are actually only 3 packages needing some consideration: - PyBindGen is a Build requirement of ns3, which is still in science. - pymc is required by kcbo, but kcbo is not in science. - The python-rpm-macros from d:l:p:misc links to d:l:p:Factory, but is also part of the distribution (same Version, 2017.12.22: TW, Leap:15.0, older version, 2017.06.29: Leap:42.3:Update, SLE12:Update). If nobody speaks up, I will remove these packages from science.
