AMD has released a updated version of the R5xx 3D programming guide. The new version offers expanded coverage of AA resolve and fast clears. Fresh DRM repository - make fails ->error: conflicting types for ‘irqreturn_t’

Matthias, all, Over the weekend, I had some time to work on the radeonhd driver. So far, I'm stumped. A few months ago, radeonhd would not build on Arch Linux. ( See 1/23 - "[radeonhd] latest git update will not build on Arch Linux??" ) Matthias suggested that drm was the issue. So this time I grabbed a fresh copy of drm with git. I'm anxious to test the radeonhd driver. Whatever kernel changes have been made in the past several kernels has really done wonders for the old 'radeon' driver operation (I works nicely) and the changes have also helped with the heat issues (gpu chipset powerdown when idle). If the radeon driver function has been helped that much, I can't wait to try the radeonhd driver. I might finally be able to move completely to an opensource driver. It's still not as fast as the fglrx driver, but the speed is acceptable -- even with compiz. The heating is the last real issue -- and I know you guys have done more work on the downclocking issue than has ever been done with the radeon driver, so If the tests go good -- bye bye suse 11.0, I can finally upgrade :p Let me know what you think about the drm make issue and thank you for all your continued work! -- David C. Hello, (II) RADEONHD(0): Card not in database: 0x9710:0x1458:0xD000; using generic modesetting. - dual head inoperable I'd like to use display on hdmi + another on vga I'd used my old xorg.conf from my rv505 config + Option "Audio" "true" + Option "HDMI" "all" Board uses ATI 785G Chipset with ATI RS880 on board graphics. Hello, I'm starting to use radeonhd on a fresh ubuntu lucid and I got this on the Xorg.log: [ 852.485] (II) [DRM] Kernel mode setting disabled [ 852.485] (EE) KMS is disabled. This is good for us, because RADEONHD conflicts with KMS. [ 852.485] (==) RADEONHD(0): Depth 24, (--) framebuffer bpp 32 [ 852.486] (**) RADEONHD(0): Selected EXA 2D acceleration. [ 852.486] (II) RADEONHD(0): Card not in database: 0x791E:0x105B:0x0E0C; using generic modesetting. [ 852.486] If - and only if - your card does not work or does not work optimally please contact radeonhd(a)opensuse.org to help rectify this.
