[opensuse-project] Substantial problems with @opensuse.org email addresses due to SPF
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, emails _to_ your opensuse.org address will bounce if sender and receiver use SPF. I opened a bug report about it ( https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=414666 ) and explain the details in my blog ( http://fnmueller.wordpress.com/2008/08/05/opensuseorg-email-address-will-bou... ~ ). Marcus said it would be a good idea to bring it up on the ML. So I do. I think it would be a good idea if all of you would vote for the bug as this problem hits almost everybody I believe. Does anybody have some information how to setup postfix to do SRS? did you check out http://www.libsrs2.org/status.html ? Seems it is still in active development for postfix :-(. But this is the only source I am aware of (I am _not_ a SPF expert).
AFAIK, there is no working SRS implementation for postfix. Had there been one, we would have set it up long ago. (my company processes a lot of email on behalf of customers, and SPF can be a bit of a pain). /Per Jessen, Zürich --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

I have everything you need in my home directory on the BS. I use pysrs.

I use pysrs. You can get information on the spf discuss list or help
lists. Also for specific srs you it's list.

Last I looked, pysrs still didn't work with Postfix. According www.openspf.org: "Postfix doesn't support a plugin interface that can do SRS," There are miscellaneous libsrs2 patches for Postfix out there, but they seem to be either old (postfix stable is 2.5) or only partially done. /Per Jessen, Zürich --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

I guess we just have to try it. Thanks - could you add this to the bug report (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=414666), please? Yeah - the patch is for postfix 2.1.4 though, and I feel pretty certain I looked into using it at least 18 months ago. I don't think there's _any_ testing going on. Anyway, why is this really a problem for opensuse.org addresses? "opensuse.org" does not have an SPF record/entry, so no provider should refuse reception of emails from @opensuse.org. /Per Jessen, Zürich --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org
