Hey, I am a third year undergrad at MIT, Manipal, India doing CSE and I want to discuss the "Karma plugin for OpenSUSE Connect idea" [1] The idea is to award Karma points for contribution to OpenSUSE. The karma points will be given through wiki edits, bugzilla entries, planet.opensuse.org posts, distribution changelogs and possibly other sources. Also, we would implement a feature so as to send karma points to another user in order to recognize his work. Also, we would integrate this in the API so that the karma points can be fetched easily. plugin for Elgg which supports all these features. Michal Hrušecký would be mentoring this idea. IMO its an excellent idea. We currently have a lot of infrastructure
which can be used for your GSoC idea.
that can be used for your GSoC Project like wiki, forums, news.o.o,
bugzilla, planet, even connect polls, also it will be great if you are
able to track the gitorious & svn commit changes, open fate, mailing
lists and what not. The list is not exhaustive( but you can always add
/ subtract whatever you want to do)
I would love to see Karma points coming alive.
