if you have any link to mate guys (I don't have time to make it myself right now), I noticed that trying to install kde, gnome, xfce and mate did nearly break my 13.2 install. I used to install kde and gnome for demo purpose, and suspected gnome and mate couldn't cohabitate :-) (not a big deal) thanks jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

Hello jdd, As far as I know, it's gtk2 vs gtk3. Maybe a good idea is to install KDE-GNOME together and xfce-MATE together. Just create another partition and different users (home). Another idea is to have lvm setup. By the way, I include MATE mailing list and Benjamin to check this mail. Like what? If there are actual problems installing multiple DEs then file bugs, unless there are explicitly specified conflicts between packages they should be installable and work as expected. The only issue I am aware of is DBus-activation if there are multiple implementations of a DBus interface installed in parallel it will arbitraily use one of them, but thats a broken design of DBus that is difficult to address for downstream distributions. -- Guido Berhoerster -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

if it's worth it, I can experiment, but probably not before next week. the more visible problem was dolphin launching repetedly (or at least it's icon in the task bar, even in other de than kde, this blocked the computer (control alt backspace to regain control) jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
