[opensuse-project] GSoC 2013 update for the week ending on 9/08/2013
Hello folks, So, here is my GSoC 2013 update for the week ending on 9/08/2013 1. What have I done last week? Finished with refactoring the code. The discussion system is now live on http://build.opensuse.org (Yayy!). Apart from that, a functionality for edit/delete comments has been pushed to github. 2. What am I'm doing this week I just moved in to my college. So will be a little caught with the usual move-in and orientation things. But no big deal. I have received feedback from my mentor on the edit/delete functionality I have put up on github and will make sure the same gets corrected/implemented soon. Apart from that, we will target to finish off the entire edit/delete functionality set this week, along with test suites, make sure all the data transfer happens via JSON and not XML. So next week we can move on to hermes and start building notification types for the discussion system in OBS. How do we access it? Is there a wiki page discussing it? (Yes I did take a quick look at OBS, but I don't see anything relevant on the WebUI.) Greg -- Greg Freemyer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org

Seems easy to be found: go to an open SR; at the top, there are now two
tabs:
Overview / 'Comments'
The 2nd one seems rather new :)
We'll have to explore the functions.
Shayon! Thanks for that!

Yes, right now any user can posts comments under projects, packages and/or requests. So you if you go to a project page such as - https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=Banshee%3ALegacy you would find a "Comments" tab there. Same applies for requests and packages.

Hi,
I'm not sure how much of the trouble we see is due to those
refactoring / changes.... but I for one have issues accepting SRs in the
webui.
The package is apparently accepted (it was an SR for a new package; upon
clicking accept, the package appeared in the destination), but the SR
remains 'new'. A red banner with only the text '#' appeared on top,
indicating 'something might be fishy'.
Accepting the SR using osc was no problem; so I assume the webui is the
only issue at this moment.
Of course this may be entirely unrelated to the changes you did; just
that you're the only one talking about any change; makes it obvious to
ask you about it.

Umm, when i say refactoring I meant refactoring code I previously wrote to build up the functionality for comments. I doubt if it has anything to do with the requests. I would wait for someone else from the OBS group to look into this as well.

yes, that was a crash in the new Sphinx indexing code due to MySQL connection problems. This is solved meanwhile and not happen anymore. I don't know if it's relevant, but I just wanted to watch a delete SR from someone so I know when it was accepted. It seems like if there are going to be comments added to a SR, there needs to be a way for an interested 3rd party to watch a SR.
