Thomas, that is because you have seen it many times.
I agree. I don't think it attracts the attention.
I prefer something
which tells me _why_ openSUSE is good for me, even if it doesn't give me
a complete description of the product, which is not the goal of a slogan
anyway.
That is the job for the second sentence (slogan).
This one already did its job, making you to think:"Why it is good for me?"
People don't know what is openSUSE, telling:
openSUSE is good for you
will attract attention. Than you have chance to answer, what is openSUSE and
why it is good.
All the slogans:
openSUSE - Works out of the box
openSUSE - Only the Best!
openSUSE - Works for you
and so (I just cite some to be short) doesn't state facts about openSUSE
but opinions. I think a slogan should reflect something real about
openSUSE,
What real you can be put in one line?
Let me try:
"openSUSE is one of the largest opensource linux distributions
with a lot of free programs and optimal ratio of new features
versus stability",
Using very little fonts it can be squeezed in one line, but who is going to
take computer vocabulary to translate what it means?
like freedom, versatility, ease of use and so.
Every word when is not in the context can have few meanings, the problem is to
find the sentence that gives meaning.
