Hi,
I am very interested in CloudStack/Eucalyptus setup
project, is there any student position of this year's gsoc?
Great and you should apply even if there are other students applying
to the same. I will suggest start working on a proposal and submit it
before deadline.
I used to working on OpenStack, and this
is my
undergraduate final project. I notice that on idealist you mentioned
"The OpenStack packages are building and the framework has been
tested, yet we lack documentation around setup and configuration." I
think I can do this part.
I used to setup a Eucalyptus IaaS cloud with 8 physical
nodes. And a OpenStack cloud with 20 physical nodes. And try to
optimize the network topology under a limited network environment and
it works well, all of the procedure documented by myself, so I think I
can do the document and setup configuration part.
I am want to participate current project, my group now
using sever big clusters based on openSUSE, but mainly the MPI/OpenMPI
direction, we want to try the IaaS recently, this give me another
reason to participate in this project, I think my work will benefit
both community and our group.
But I used to be a Archlinux one. Just start my journey on
desktop openSUSE recently , still learning how to use obs and rpm
packaging, but I think I can figure them out soon.
Great, getting in touch with the mentor is very important and yes off
course submit a proposal before the deadline.
Please give me some information , thank
you!
