We did not conduct the Board election in December as initially scheduled since we did not receive enough of candidates required to run the election. Therefore, we are extending the nominations and applications phase by two weeks starting today. The election schedule is thus updated as follows: Friday 3 January 2025 * Extension for nominations and applications for Board candidacy * Membership drive Saturday 18 January 2025 * Announcement of the final list of candidates * Campaign begins * Membership drive continues, opportunity to apply for openSUSE membership, but new members will only be eligible to vote and not run as candidate Sunday 19 January 2025 * Ballots open: Please cast your vote during this time * Campaign continues Sunday 2 February 2025 * Ballots close Monday 3 February 2025 * Announcement of results We would like to remind members that as per the openSUSE Board Election rules [1] the sitting board is allowed to appoint new members as part of an election if not enough people are elected.
