That wasn't his point. He didn't say anything about you comment with regards to the "1 click" name change. His point was you didn't need to make the gnome comment. And quite frankly I agree. You could have very well come in and stated that you felt that this was something that you felt didn't need to be changed and express you reasons why. You didn't need to come in and and make the generalization about gnome users. My point was never to be offensive but only to raise discussion... druid just seems to be more of a jump to conclusions and wants to ripe someone a new each time he posts.. whatever its his issue not mine. Sadly he was right that that person is a gnome user, BUT so am I and don't share many of the same ideas as user X. So, in my mind making that generalization is lame. Though if I had included some other information he could have made a generalization that I would have completely agree with. --- snip --- cheers Marcio --- Druid PS: the 2 or 3 times I've tried one-click it worked 100% perfectly --- snip --- for what you are saying... I've used this thing tons more than you have. In fact I think I used it more than 2 or 3 times just yesterday. Heck I've even put stuff into the build service and pulled it out through 1 click. My vote is that we just end this thread if nothing of value comes from it. I wasn't personally prosposing a name change. I actually tend to like it. I was posting more for general comments and discussion. Druid---- This part of you post was great. Just most of everything around it sucked to an extent. Well ok, that and the fact that user X is a jerk/idiot/[choice of word]. What one-click does: automate the process of "installing a package with dependency solving" by joining 2 operations: 1) Add all the necessary repos, giving the option to remains subscribed 2) Install the package with the package manager now it can fulfill all dependencies Now how it works. I've installed a package here just to document these steps: 1) You click on the link, it shows a window with the repos it may need to add, and gives the choice to remain subscribed or not. 2) Then it confirms the package and eventually dependencies that will be installed (its important, you may not want to install lots of dependencies or change versions of a certain package). 3) Then it shows a status screen, BEFORE it makes any changes, like in the yast installer, very well done, you can check any problems, have a complete view of the process (this step has a confirmation before going next, exactly like the normal yast installer. 4) After that you type your root password, because thats the way you should install stuff, as root. 5) Then you wait for repos to be added, and package to be installed. 6) There is a screen telling the instalation was successful, and you click finish to end the process. ------ Stephen --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org

Sadly he was right that that person is a gnome user,
yeah
BUT so am I and
yeah It was just a wild guess, what a coincidence.
PS: the 2 or 3 times I've tried one-click it worked 100% perfectly --- snip ---
for what you are saying... I've used this thing tons more than you have.
So you have what, tons like a thousand, and keeping my number of uses on 2, you are at least 500 times more expert than I am on one click? Ok, I can live with that. Maybe I'll use more from now on, too. Practice not always lead to perfection. I meant that its a system I really dont need (as I've said previously, its for lazy people or people who cant add a repo and then use yast), Im comfortable with adding a repo and using yast, its ok for me. Using one-click is just not what I would do when in need of getting a package installed.
In fact I think I used it more than 2 or 3 times just yesterday. Heck I've even put stuff into the build service and pulled it out through 1 click.
Cool.

yeah, value seems something that will pass very far from this thread. Marcio --- Druid --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org
