[opensuse-project] statistics on the release
heya all, I'm working on a little "openSUSE 12.2 well received" kind'a article. I need some numbers to prove the point How many downloads, stuff like that - see what we had last year: http://news.opensuse.org/2011/11/19/opensuse-12-1-launch-feedback/ Who can send some stuff my way or help me out a bit? I seeded the torrents during the launch and I uploaded 315 GB's from my server. Is there a way to determine the number of downloads from torrents? I don't know of way of getting stats from all of the torrent seeders. Way cool, Per, I can at least reference this and the nr from Angelos. Too bad nobody seems to know where to get the rest. I did get a mail with numbers for the downloads via download.opensuse.org, btw, so I have some numbers.

Google Insights tells a pretty story http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=opensuse%2Csuse&date=today%201-m&cmpt=q The interest in Germany and Brazil is no surprise - but did you know we had such a following in Russia? Alexa stats (not worth much but kinda interesting nonetheless; ie the hits on USB stick.) http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/opensuse.org The approach of release date generated a lot of interest on Facebook with 186 new likes over the month including a spike of 70 new likes around the 5th of September. Weekly total reach was up 220% to over 7400 people, with 1.5 million 'Friends of Fans' seeing our posts.
