Perhaps because reiserfs is a dying filesystem? Nonetheless, I think we ought to keep the option, but marked deprecated (and/or unsupported).
We have no problem introducing new experimental, almost unsupported features, the same should apply for old unsupported features.
Reiserfs can not be used for installation, but it can be created later once installed; thus I assume it is supported for existing filesystems, just not for root. However, I don't know if it will be supported during the offline upgrade procedure, ie, DVD upgrade, for existing system partitions on reiserfs. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
