The openSUSE board election[1] closed today, so we have 2 new members on the board replacing Pascal Bleser and Henne Vogelsang.
Election results:
Henne Vogelsang, 125 votes Peter Linnell, 72 votes
Sankar P, 71 votes Sebastion Kuegler, 64 votes Chuck Payne, 39 votes Nelson Marques, 23 votes Plus Kostas, whom I forgot in the original announcement by mistake:
Kostas Koudaras, 20 votes.
which makes 220 votes out of 469 members who were eligible to vote. Thanks for all candidates who stepped up and all members who casted their votes!
Greetings from the election committee! (election-officials@opensuse.org)
[1] http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Board_election_2010 Please forgive me for asking 3 stupid questions:
1) if Henne was being replaced (together with Pascal), how did he manage to get 125 votes?; Henne was running for a second term, and replaced himself ;-) Pascal already served two terms, so he has to step back for at least one term.
2) who, in fact got elected to the board?; and Assumed that they will accept the results, Henne and Peter Linnell got elected to the board.
Thank you Thomas. Fine, but who, in fact, are the members of the the board after the election process?
3) adding up 125+72+71+64+39+23 does not result in a total of 220 votes ("out of 469...."). How is the sum of 220 votes you quote above arrived at? My wording was bad. We had 220 members participating in the ballot. Each of them was allowed to give up to two votes, but some only voted for one candidate, that's why we don't have 440 votes.
