The Board remains concerned about ongoing Infrastructure issues. Board notes that some efforts have been made to improve the situation with www.opensuse.org and other Provo hosted openSUSE services, but would like to see a sustainable long term solution.
Without any investment into grooming a community of people who will take care of the application level, moving 'provider' solves nothing IMHO. You can contribute to and take responsibility of our infrastructure today (except the OS level), yet not many people do. Unless we as a community find a solution to this problem and make our infrastructure sustainable by us, we will always depend on external people who will not have this as a huge priority. This is not healthy at all and a huge threat to the openSUSE project. Just my 2¢ for the gazillion'st time, I know it's irritating sorry... Henne p.s. We have this situation also in many other parts of our project. I think we rest too much on SUSE's good will for marketing, design, conference organization, documentation etc. -- Henne Vogelsang http://www.opensuse.org Everybody has a plan, until they get hit. - Mike Tyson -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
