Where is it defined what a "contribution level to warrant us to accept your application" is? It would be much better, if people would have a concrete idea of what they would have to actually do to become members. That said, the whole idea of judging people's contributions feels unwelcoming to me. I think it is a structural flaw of the openSUSE membership that you can't join by doing things, but you have to pass a committee. This is not how you encourage people to become part of a community.
