To me, the author of that article appears just one more who did not understand the Novell-MS deal. Novell did NOT get a Patent License (AFAI understood), but only 'bought' the guarantee that, should Novell infringe any patents, the Novell Users will not be sued. This will by no way allow Novell just to go on and infringe all MS patents. Why: only the Novell-USERS can not be sued. There was not a single word written that NOVELL can not be SUED... which, in fact, anyhow would be much more likely than MS suing any single user of any Linux distro.
But it's like this... bloggers blog to blog... but many just don't read and understand what about they blog. sometimes a really bad story.
