I am totally unfamiliar with svn so I have a lot of questions
I would recommend to subscribe to opensuse-doc and/or opensuse-translation, this might be a bit more specific.
I already did.
We've written a SVN guide with some basic steps some time ago. Although some parts might be outdated now, but the basic principles still apply:

It seems to have a decode problem I cannot read it with UTF-8 nor any other decoding available to me,so I cannot read almost anything, can you check it out and let me know?
