What would be the benefit of creating an openSUSE Foundation vs. joining, as it has been suggested, joining SPI ?
Most foundations (this is also what Ceph is looking towards) are set up as directed funds, or foundations under the umbrella of, something like SFCC, Linux Foundation, SPI etc. It'd indeed be cool from my PoV if openSUSE did this officially. The trademarks can be worked out, as we're doing in the Ceph case as well. -- Architect SDS, Distinguished Engineer SUSE Linux GmbH, GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) "Architects should open possibilities and not determine everything."
