I tend to agree with Carlos here. Making all responses required may contribute to response bias, since it increases the chances of certain people abandoning the pool.

Considering on the Factory, Support, and Users mailinglists you post over 2x more than anyone else on those lists, I don't think the Project is exactly going to mourn the absence of your feedback in this case.
