Of course we need to keep looking for a technical solution, but also I think is a good idea to start to think about political, economical and based on specifics laws solutions to help us to keep the freedom of choice and diversity on top of humanity needs instead of "secure".
I agree that there are potential legal issues here as well (which is something SUSE and The Attachmate Group need to address). This entire feature smells to me like an attempt at more anti-competitive behaviour on MS' part (especially on ARM). But until some court rules that it is actually anti-competitive, the technical challenge remains, and for the openSUSE project, the technical issues are something we need to work out - on our own or with SUSE's help. Just seems to me that SUSE really could help us with this.
