Bottom line: If you seek more independence, then just do it (as Henne says.) Each and every one of us brings something unique to the table. If there's something you can do and want to do, do it. And if you encounter obstacles, raise your voice loudly and challenge us (the community) to remove those obstacles to make your work more productive. Our ability to be more independent and have more control over the project has nothing to do with who owns Novell currently or tomorrow. It is us having the wherewithal and resolve to do so. As for sponsorship from other organizations, again this is speculation. We have not done anything yet to actively seek out sponsorships. This is one goal of the Foundation to begin an active process of sponsorship. But until we actively do so, any assumption why we don't have sponsors now besides the primary Novell sponsorship is pure speculation.
