I have an powermac 8500 and trying to boot this machine from the network,
but when I download one of 2.2 or 2.4 coff kernels from the website and
place them in the /tftpboot directorie on a i386 bsd server the mac gives
the error CLAIM! failed (from serveral resources on the internet this tells
me that the load-base variable is not set right, currently I set this to
600000, I also tried to switch to 640000 but without any luck, the same
thing with the real-base variable from F00000 to FB0000)
What would be an apporiate value or values to use?
And how can I compile a new kernel (2.4.x or 2.5.x) with an coff out? and
are the any patches that I HAVE to use, to make it work?
Last Question: it seems that vyres (fb) is lower than yres so when the X
server start the screen follows my mouse pointer to display an part of the
screen, is there a way to set this value right?
