[suse-ppc] [OT] Key for entering RISC6000 43P Bios
Hi ! Sorry for my OT question in this linux list. Yesterday I installed SuSE PPC V7.3 on a IBM RISC- 6000 43P (Model 7248). I had some problems and now I will try to solve them. But I have no access to the BIOS-Options at machine startup. Years ago I know the special key for entering BIOS-Options but I forgot this. I googled all over the world and I couldn't find it. Please can you help me: Which key and at what time to be pressed for entering BIOS-Options. Thanks Harald
Hi there, I am afraid I may not answer your question. I would suggest you to try F1or ESC (no guarantee). I have a similar problem on my IBM PII GL300, i.e. I can not get to BIOS. When I switch on my computer I have the following messages displayed: COPYRIGHT 1981, 1998 IBM CORPORATION - ALL RIGHTS RESERVED (message in Spanish - SK) INCORECT DISK CHANGE DISK AND PRESS ANY KEY If I press DEL, ESC, F1 or any other key appears '301 keyboard error' (from now on everything is in Spanish - SK). A bit later an interface appears: 'boot error(s) POST' with two options to choose Continue Quit configuration utility No option where I could set to read CDROM while booting seems to be available if I choose 'Continue'. If 'Quit configuration utility' the following is displayed press HOME key to abort RPL Novell NetWare Ready Firmware v1.00 (940810) (C) Copyright 1991 - 1994 Novell, Inc. All Rights Reserved. IMB 100/10 EtherJet PCI Adapter RPL v.2.73 (950713) Copyright 1995 -1997, IBM Corporation All Rights Reserved. 107 LAN adapter failed the media test. Please check the cable and reboot the system unit. If I go through options available I see in help that an option of �BIOS update� must exist somewhere which I can not find. For a RS6000 43p --- in ascii console press "1" normal keyboard. if you have graphics console press "F1" whend appers " scsi keyboard ....." Good luck Serguei Krivov ha escrito:
