KDE 2.1.1 installation: ~/.kde2 folder, Problems with Konqueror, AA
[also posted on comp.os.linux.powerpc] Hello, I've just installed the new KDE 2.1.1 with RPMs from the kde.org ftp servers (including qt 2.3.0). My system is a upgraded SuSe 7.0 PPC. I had KDE 2.1 installed before. After the upgrade, I had to rename the ~/.kde2 folder and move my settings files over to the new one, before it would start up. Now, everything works well. It seems to me that KDE and applications start up faster, but that may be a subjective impression. Anyway, I'm happy. But sometimes, the following error message turns up in Konqueror: There was an error loading the module KHTML. The dignostics is: /opt/kde2/lib/libkssl.so.2: R_PPC_REL24 relocation out of range It appears reproducably when I click on a web bookmark while I'm managing files. Konqueror refuses to open the web address afterwards, claiming that it isn't able to deal with the MIME type text/html (which it ought to be). I can surf the web fine, though, if I start Konqueror from the toolbar or menu. Has anybody else seen this? Are there any known issues with libkssl? Oh yes, by the way: I can turn on Antialiasing in the Control panel, but nothing happens, even after a restart. I'm using XFree86 4.0.2 with the RENDER extension, so I'd expect it to work (not that I miss it much, though) Cheers Kaspar Pflugshaupt -- Kaspar Pflugshaupt Geobotanical Institute ETH Zurich, Switzerland http://www.geobot.umnw.ethz.ch mailto:pflugshaupt@geobot.umnw.ethz.ch
