I have tried for 2 weeks non stop to get SuSE 7.1 for ppc on my iMac
350 running 256 ram and going by the book, nothing will allow 7.1 to
boot on its own. It always expects a reinstall.
Changing the firmware specs does not help - although the firmware was
updated early this year, the iMac is an October 2000 model. Nothing
in the manual works to allow a boot up. I dont even care if mac 9.1
or x never work again, I want to be able to turn on my iMac and let
7.1 SuSE boot up!!
It seems that SuSE did not allow for this problem and I am bitterly
SuSE 7.1 although bootable initially from CD, is not capable of self
booting when turning machine on.
