Weird problems on SuSE 7.0 PPC. Newbie
Hi, I installed Linux PPC (SuSE 7.0) on my iMac DVSE. I got it installed, but when I power down or restart, I get a gray screen and find myself re-installing. What do I do so it boots back into linux (suse). Someone on the Debian List said the bootloader is bad and I should switch to Debian. Please don't let this be true, I paid 40 US bucks for SuSE and I don't want to order debian. But I may have to, this is my second bad experience with suse on mac. HELLLLLP! :) Patrick

I guess you would see the same problems with debian. Hold down the command+alt+o+f keys on startup, this will drop you into OpenFirmware. type "printenv boot-device" Does that point to your boot partition? What happens when you simply type "boot"? And what do you mean with "reinstalling", does it drop you into the installer all the time or what? Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
